Hi, I’m Jose, Professor of Quantitative Criminology at the University of Leeds, where I teach Criminology, Sociology, and Social Policy students about crime data and statistical modelling, and I also serve as Co-Director of Social Research Methods at Leeds and Director of Advanced Quantitative Methods of the White Rose Doctoral Training Partnership, where we promote the adoption of innovative and rigourous research methods.
Here, you’ll find my latest papers, talks, and teaching materials, along with discussions of my work in progress and the occasional rant. Most of my research focuses on sentencing, disparities, causes of crime, procedural justice, measurement, and, more recently, meta-science and car dependency.
